I have created a stencil of all the IT systems we use in our data centers by
copying objects from other stencils into one.
I have also created from scratch some objects that I could not find
elsewhere and have added them to the stencil.
Because the bulk of the objects have come from different sources the custom
properties for each object are all different. They are either in slight
different orders in the list, have slightly different "labels" or it is
something I do not need.
To solve this I have created a custom properties set that I would like to
apply to all the relevant objects of my stencil for future use and if
possible apply it to drawings already created using the stencil.
When I follow the instructions on how to apply this property set to my
stencil nothing happens. I bought the Microsoft book and follow the
instruction in there (not much different to the online stuff)and still
nothing happens. Each of the object shapes keeps the original properties.
If I apply my custom set to an object in a drawing, it will be appended to
the bottom of the properties for that shape but will not replace the
properties even in the checkbox is ticked in the wizard window.
I feel I must be doing something wrong but can not see what, can anybody
shed any light on this.
