most annoying thing!!! auto double space?

Justin

In Frontpage 2002, everytime I press ENTER it skips an
extra line and everthing is doublespaced. The spacing is
set to single, and setting it to double makes it like a
quadruplespace. If I press SHIFT + ENTER it works as one
would expect, but this is beginning to get on my nerves,
is there no way to make it do this on its own, like it
should???

Justin -

In FrontPageLand, it's working exactly as it should, just as you
described.

I realize that it is supposed to do this, but it annoys
me to no end, surley there is a way to change it!

Enter starts a new paragraph. Just keep typing. The text will wrap by
itself. Occasionally you need a line-break. You get this as you
discovered with shift-enter.

No, there is not. A lot of editors, HTML and word processors and not to
mention older, traditional typewriters, have this behavior which is why
FrontPage uses it.

Hope this helps,

If it really bothers you that much, I supposed your could
offer Microsoft several million dollars to create your
own tailored version of Front Page. Other than that,
there is no way to change it.

That is the html standard.
Enter creates a new "paragraph.
Shift+Enter creates a new line.
*All* html editors work this way.

Ah, if only we could change everything that annoyed us. That would be
sweet.

That doesn't work either.

that's what it is supposed to do. To enter a single line press and hold down
Shift and then press Enter.

hitting enter in design view is exactly like putting a <p> tag in the code
p=paragraph.

shift-enter breaks the line (<br> in code for line break).

You know you could just hit format paragraph and go to spacing and hit the up
or down arrow and it will say 0 and that gets rid of the double spacing!!!
