Most Right Value in a Row

In another post, I was taught how to populate a cell with the last
value of a column. How do I populate a cell with the last value of a
selected row? I appreciate your help.

=LOOKUP(2,1/(A1:A50000<>""),A1:A5000)

 

[Dave Peterson]

And for a row:

=LOOKUP(2,1/(1:1<>""),1:1)

(in a cell that's not in row 1)
