Mouse does not select in Outlook 2007

First of all I have seen this same issue posted twice without a true
resolution. We also know it is not the mouse, not the keyboard, not because
they are wired or wireless. It just suddenly started without a mouse or
keyboard change or any hardware or software change. The system has been
rebooted, powered down completely and powered back up and Outlook has been
run in SAFE mode. Now for the real question: Outlook 2007 - When opening,
replying or forwarding an e-mail in Outlook 2007 the mouse will not function
in the body of the edit window. The mouse, just suddenly, stopped selecting
text. This is the body of the edit window only. The mouse functions
correctly in the TO, FROM, SUBJECT windows. Attachment window is fine, but
if attachment is embedded in body of edit window, cannot open. Also in
e-mail with hyperlink, curser does not follow hyperlink (because it is not
really selecting it?) I can tab to edit window and arrow down and up, but
cannot use mouse. User claims did not do anything and I can find nothing to
address it. This is an Outlook only issue. Everything else in Windows and
all other software is fine.
