Mouse Issues

I have new computer purchased through Cyber Power. It came loaded with Vista
(Yuck!).
The biggest problem I have is the cursor/mouse. If I am working on
something, like typing this message, the cursor will go spontaneously to
where the mouse is resting. Sometimes it will switch to the other program, if
the mouse is resting on the program's icon or tab. I have searched everywhere
in the control panel in hopes of turning off a possible setting that allows
it to move.
Any Ideas of how to fix this problem?
Thanks!

Not an Office issue - suggest you repost to a group that supports Windows Vista.

This doesn't seem the right group since it sounds like a
hardware problem to me. Can you borrow another mouse to see if
it keeps happening?

Stop hitting the touch pad while typing, or if this isn't a laptop, take
it back. Vista isn't the issue, it's either the user or the hardware.
