Mouse Non-responsive on Entourage 11.3.6 and OSX 10.5

Entourage 11.3.6 seems non-responsive (or sluggish) to mouse clicks
since updating to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard? I do not recall having a mouse
issue with Tiger. One click will not open a mail message and it seems
like I have to do multiple clicks to on a message to get it to display
in Entourage. If I get carried way with the double-clicks, it selects
too many and opens a whole bunch of messages or annoying OSX popup boxes.

BTW, I am using the corded Apple Mighty Mouse that came with the 24-inch
iMac. I tried a Microsoft Wireless mouse it was about the same.

I wonder if anyone else has observed this mouse weirdness?

This is the first report that I've seen. Log out/in with Shift key down to
disable any login items. Do you see a difference? It's possible one of your
login items is interfering and needs updating for Leopard.

Thanks..... I tried the log out/in and it did not seem to help. I even
rebuilt the Entourage database yesterday and that did not help. I am now
using the keyboard command to open messages. The Command-O works.

Maybe I have a semi-sick mouse?

Ps: As a footnote the only mouse issue is with double-clicking. Other
mouse functions seem to work okay

Have you tested in a new User? This would eliminate any corrupt preference
in you User's folder.

Maybe good news.... I got a tip from another user that I may have caused
the problem by having the System Preference/Mouse/Double-Click setting
up against the right peg. I just backed off to about the 3/4 setting
and it seems to have helped.

Going to try it for a couple of days. The price of the fix is right and
I may have learned a new Mac trick

Please post back to let us know how this is working for you.

The problem was SOLVED by simply moving the System Preferences/Keyboard
and Mouse double-click setting off full right. The following tip was
the clue to me to back off on the setting. Faster clicks are not
necessarily better. Somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 seem to work great.

Do not run with the setting advanced to the max

Thanks for the feedback.
