Move Chart in Powerpoint 2007

peter

Is there any way in Powerpoint 2007 to select a chart and then move it just a
little bit? I have two charts on one slide and I want them to be aligned and
I know in past I just selected the chart and used ctrl + one or more of he
arrow buttons to move it. In 2007 I can do this with text boxes, images,
etc. but not charts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hold down the Ctrl key while you click the chart. That should get it selected
in sort of special mode that lets you cursorkey it around.

Hi Peter

Another way to do it would be to use the align buttons - select both charts
-> drawing tools format tab -> Arrange section -> align drop down.

Hi Echo

Any idea why this works? Is it a feature or a bug?

It is because the arrows are used in Excel to move from one element in a
chart to another. I can't remember the details about why that's a must
(maybe it was an accessibility thing?), but the compromise was to hit the
Ctrl button before selecting the chart -- when you do that, using the arrows
moves the chart instead of selecting different elements within a chart. I'm
not crazy about it, but I have to tell you I actually feel pretty darned
lucky that we can use the arrows to move charts around at all! It's most
definitely a feature.
