? move file from MyDocuments to Delete and insert data

I have a document that has to have some data deleted and then other data
inserted and i cannot find anywhere to go to do this. I have it in My
Documents, My Pictures, Desktop. and need to move it to where i can work on
it
Please can some one help me i am getting desperate

What is or was the document created with, eg Word or?
And do you have that application on your PC?

You can open the file and use SAVE AS command (File, SAVE AS) to save
the file as something else so that your main document remains
unchanged. I always recommend people to work on a copy document so that
if mistakes are made, there is always a fall-back.
