Move import specs

I want to move an import spec between computers. Can I just copy the two
system files?
I don't see how they are related.

Mumble, mumble, mumble. I just created a rather long import spec by hand.
Twice, and as I type this realize I was an IDIOT, TWICE.

First time. All done and I'm about to click on "Save As". I realize I'm
working off a backup on a DVD.
I canceled and started over again.
I got done the second time, saved it, couldn't find how to transfer the
information and sat down to write this.
Click. The DVD was being read under InCD and that's why the copy didn't come
across read only and I could have saved the first attempt.

Are you aware that the database import process, triggered by File -> Get
External Data -> Import..., has an option to import import/export
specifications? Click the "Options >>" button on the Import Objects
dialog.

If that's not what you're looking for, please explain what you're after.

Thank's. I was not aware that was there. Has it always been available? I
vaguely recall using a more convoluted process the last time they changed
the file on them probably six or seven years ago.

This time they told them they are going to do it but not when.

This change revolves around moving from the social security number to a
student ID number.
We had to call today when I got the sheets because they have left the field
name as "Social Security Number"...

It's there in Access 97, anyway. But it's easy not to notice it. I
guess in the absence of that option, you'd either (a) copy the database
containing the specs, empty it of everything except them, and import all
the new stuff, or (b) *maybe* append records from the system tables that
contain the specs to the new ones that don't.

Clients! What can you do?
