Hello:

A user of mine can only receive new e-mail, if he does something like click
on his Sent Items folder or move the elevator box on the right-hand side of
his window.

Strange, huh?

Obviously, there's somethng weird going on just on his workstation as
everyone else on the network is getting e-mail just fine.

Any clues?

I don't know what an elevator box is, but you probably aren't supposed to
use it in case of fire.
That said - what client OS version & SP level? Software firewall enabled or
in use?

The problem you're having is that the information (called "UDP packets")
that Exchange is sending to notify Outlook of changes to your mailbox is
being blocked by something - probably the Windows Internet Connection
Firewall. You can set the registry values in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q305572 (Outlook
2002) or http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q304849
(Outlook 2000) to cause Outlook to poll Exchange rather than waiting for
notifications.
