I've transferred my website to a new PC yesterday. Now, my homepage appears
with all the link bars intact, but the rest of the pages have "add this page
to the navigation structure to display a link bar here". What do I have to
do to put this right? I've tried editing the link bar properties, but am at
a loss to know what else to do now?

Hi Janet,

Did you check your navigation structure? (in navigation view)
Try Tools> "Recalculate Hyperlinks"

Thanks, just tried this. It didn't make any difference, can you suggest
anything else? Similar things have happened in the past, and have been very
easy to rectify, but I can't seem to get a handle on it this time.

Try adding a new page (name it anything)
Then save... Then add this page to you navigation (in nav view) and do a
recalculate Hyperlinks..

Does it change the home page links? was it added to any of the other pages?
Let me know...

You can always delete this page after the test..

Er, strangely enough, the new page I've added as per your instructions is
fine! The link bar appears OK, and it has added to the link bar on the home
page. Still the other pages have no page banner or link bars though.

OK, It looks like some hidden files were not copied to the CD and that's
where the problem is.

As I see it you have two choices
1. Remove all pages from the nav view and re-create the nav view.. (not bad
if there are only a few pages)
2. If you haven't made too many changes to your (disk base) site you could
open your remote web site and publish back to your disk based web...

You need to go through the web files and remove the read only file attributes.
When copied to a CD all files are automatically set to read only.
This will make the web malfunction.

I've transferred my website to a new PC yesterday.

Just in case it helps someone else .....

Everything is finally working now, but what happened is that when my files
were transferred via a storage device onto a CD, all the filenames in my
website were changed to uppercase!

Sorted it now, thank goodness.

Thanks for the help!
