Movie in 2007 sometimes

Background info: We have been inserting a few movies into PowerPoint 2007
presentations. We have noticed that when the the presentation and related
embedded files are on the desk top or on a USB stick the power point, movie
and embedded files all work.

However, when we save on the network the movies and embedded files do not
work.

My question is: To have a movie work within a PowerPoint presentation is
there a maximum number of "file paths" it can go through before it won't
work?

There is a maximum file path length. (128 characters usually I think)
