At last, with the help of http://www.mvps.org/word/index.html, the MVP web
site, I have succeeded in moving my entries to a new computer. The macro
enables the user to make a backup copy of the entries as a Word document. It
also allows the user to "restore" the entries.
My problem was moving the entries physically from old to new computer. I
copied them onto a diskette, but when I tried to "restore" the document was
not there. Tried this a second time with a different diskette and failed. So
I e-mailed the backup document from the old to the new computer and copied
it onto the desktop. I then ran the macro, located the backup on the
desktop, and successfully overrode the few existing entries with all the old
ones.
Why can't Microsoft make this easier? Anyone who uses Office and gets a new
computer would want to be able to use these entries. I had the same trouble
with my Word and Excel macros and had to re-record all of them.
