Moving Email from folder on Exchange Server

A client has several thousand emails saved in Exchange Server. He
wants to move them to his workstation and then burn them to CD. Each
time he tries to copy (or move) the emails in outlook, the workstation
locks up and outlook must be restarted.

Any ideas how to accomplish this move?
