moving emails from inbox freezes outlook

when i attempt to drag and drop an email from my inbox to another folder,
outlook freezes. Ctrl-alt-delete reveals that outlook isn't responding, and
the task has to be ended. What possibly could be the problem here? Thanks
for any feedback!

In case you are working with pst-files;
-run scanpst.exe against it and see if it comes up with anything
-make sure you are not approaching the 2GB file limit

Other than that post more info like Outlook version, mail service being used
(Exchange, POP3, IMAP, HTTP, other...) and the steps you took already to try
to resolve the problem.
