moving Office 2000 to new computer but have missplaced license key

I have a Gateway I purchased in '99 with Office Pro 97 with automatic upgrade
to Office Pro 2000 as soon as it came out. I received the discs, have had
them installed on that computer ever since. I now am moving up to a Dell P4
and want to move the Office 2000 to the new computer but the license key
numbers are not to be found. Is there somewhere I can contact MS and get the
numbers I need? I tried entering the PID number I registered but it's showing
as incorrect. When it rains, it pours. Thanks for any advice. Really can't
afford to upgrade for awhile.

Unfortunately, the disks for Office that you purchased are OEM and can only
be used on the computer on which they came preinstalled/pre-qualified. You
will need to obtain an upgrade version of Office (you can use the OEM
version for upgrade eligibility) in order to install Office on any new
computer.
