moving office xp to new computer

Larry Jones

I recent bought a copy of office xp professional. It was
put on my computer that was as 700 mhz unit. I later
bought a 3 meg computer and would like to move the
program to the newer faster unit. Upon installation on
the new computer a message states that the program was
previously registered on another computer. How do I move
the program to my new computer.

Thanks

Hi Larry,

If it's an OEM edition of Office XP it's not
transferable. If it's a retail edition you
can use the telephone activation method to
speak to a MS technician to let them know you're
moving the software.

Hi Bob,

I have a similar situation. But I'm not moving because my
computer motherboard was damaged. Except replacing the
motherboard, I upgraded my computer at the same time.
I'm using the OEM version. What shall I do?

Thanks.

Hi Paul,

Use the telephone activation method to speak
to a MS technician. They're usually pretty
reasonable :)
