Moving or copying custom show from one file to another

Let's say I have two files, each with custom slide shows. I would like to
merge the two files while retaining all of the custom slide shows. Is this
possible with Powerpoint?

Look at the Custom Show Merge Assistant that is part of ProTools for
PowerPoint:

It recreates the custom shows after you have merged slides from one
presentation to another.
