Moving Project Server 2003 to new server

Hello,

Can anyone point me to information on how to move my existing Project
Server 2003 to a new machine. Currently I DO NOT have SharePoint
running on the Project Server. We are moving the Project Server to a
new machine so that we can dedicate it to Project/SharePoint.
Thanks in advance for any information,

Chris

Chris:

Without having to move SharePoint objects, this is very easy: Do a fresh
installation of Project Server and WSS on the new hardware. Make a backup of
your old database and restore it to the new hardware overwriting the
database on the new setup. You'll need to drop the old ProjectServerUser and
ProjectUser accounts and add the new ones you created on the new hardware to
the restored database. You'll also need to add the WSS connection
information and make changes to the SMTP information if necessary.

Hi Gary,
I have a similar situation but I have to move my existing Sharepoint
application to this new server as well. Please recommend a procedure to do
this, ie. Install SQL server, Sharepoint Server then Project Server. In
addition, how do i move all my existing data, information, sites etc to the
new Server?

Do I simply detach the Project database and reattach it at the new server
and configure the settings to point to this new server?

How about Sharepoint?

Thanks in advance!

We have to do the same thing. I have a single server installation and have
to move the database to another server, thius the end result should be the
web parts on one server and the SQL parts on another.

Please advise.
