Moving slide template placeholders

Is there a way to move the placeholders for adding new slides rather than adjusting it on each slide or duplicating/deleting text? Since placeholders aren't on the master slide and putthing them there creates other problems

I don't like the default location for the title placeholders on each new slide.

If you go to View > Master > Slide Master and re-size and/or reposition the
"Title Area for AutoLayouts", it will do what you want. If you've deleted
the Title placeholder from the Slide Master, you'll have to first go to
Format > Master Layout and check Title to get it back.
