My old computer is almost dead. I just purchased a brand new vista computer
and it should be arriving at my house tomorrow. I need to unistall my
licensed version of Office 2003 from my old computer and install it on my new
computer. How do i switch my activation key to the new computer since I am
going to scrap this computer before it dies completely.

if you have an OEM license, you cannot transfer it, it's "sticked" to your
current PC.

For retail versions, simply install it on the new system and remove it from
the old. If activation fails, choose the phone activation method and explain
your case.

I purchased this Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003 online (the cd has
Upgrade). I had to purchase another license for the laptop also online and
have the case to that as well. They did not have activation codes on the
case, but displayed when I installed it.

Me and my wife can't afford another license to use these products and this
current computer is getting kernal errors along with the power supply is
almost gone in it and thus it is going to be wiped clean and trashed.

Purchased a cd from an online source and it didnt have codes on the case,
but displayed the code when you installed it???

In any case if its an upgrade cd you would need a qualifying product in
order to install it

What I was refering to was the fact that no Code was on the case, but it
apparently was automatically input on installing.
And
That many people with an upgrade cd, forget or lose their qualifying product
cd

And what retail edition of Office is supplied with no code on the case but
automatically inputs the code when you install it?
