Mp3 file won't play using Netscape or FoxFire

Hey all you experts! I placed a short mp3 file as a background sound to play
when opening the home page but it only plays using IE. I set the
compatibility option to IE & Netscape under Tools, Browser Compatibility but
it will only play using IE. Help!
