Im a total noob here,... so i need step by step instructions.....ive got a web site up...and an mp3 music file in my documents, .....how do i get it to a page on the site?

MP3 files are not the same as images, where you point amd insert

On MP3 or any other download document, you would want to link to the file

1- Open your Web Page > Insert the text (Download MP3 Here or anything else you want
2- Highlight the text > and set you hyperlink to the file
3- File Save > Upload to server (if working locally)

Now when people go to the site, clicking the link will download the MP

With all other types of files, they have to be imported into your site
before you can link to them. I think that will be the case with mp3 files
also.

link to it and upload it to the server - along with all the other files on the
site.

I hope this is what you mean.....so when a user clicks the link the file will
download/open in their default player.
