MPEG 2 Playback in PowerPoint 2004

Does anyone know if installing the Quicktime MPEG-2 playback component
allows MPEG 2 clips to play in PowerPoint?

I have several clips captured on Pinnacle Studio 8 on a PC. Neither QT or
PowerPoint claim to recognise the format?

Any ideas?

No problem on my Mac (I have the MPEG-2 components).
