MPEG Movies created in PPT 2004 will not play in 2008

Hello,

I created a slide show with numerous movie clips in PowerPoint Mac 2004. Most of the clips are either MPEG1 or MPEG2. They played just fine in Powerpoint 2004 but now that I've upgraded to 2008 they will not play. Can you help?

Hi there! Could I get some more information from you?

Is this problem happening for just one file, or all files that contain MPEGs?
When you say they don't play in 2008, do you mean that you just see the posterframe (the first frame of the movie)?
Can you preview the movie (select the movie and go to the Formatting Palette and hit the play button)
In the Formatting Palette, does it show the name of the movie?
Do you have the movies playing automatically in slide show or when you click them?
What happens when you create a new presentation in 2004 with an mpeg and then bring it over to 2008?

Sorry for so many questions, but it will help me to determine what may be the cause.
