.mpg attachments

I can't seem to open .mpg files people sent to me via
email. They appear as attachments with the windows symbol.
How do I open these please?

Save them to your file system, then right click and use the Open With option
to open them with your preferred player.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
