I am trying to use Pivot Tables and Charts with some of the forms/reports to
give my end users a means of getting good consolidation data without getting
me to build it. Pivot tables/charts do the job well except that I need the
form to revert to my basic settings at open. If an end user creates a complex
graph or table the data takes too long to load for the next user, changes
show up instantly once the forms are loaded. All the information I can find
indicates they should be asked to save any changes but this is not happening.
Whatever they build gets automatically saved. Tried coding the events in the
form in various ways including controlling the record source at open but
nothing seems to work any user changes always get saved. Can anybody offer a
suggestion - I am aware that with Data Access pages I could use an XML file
to control how the pivots opened but this does not seem to be possible in
2007. Alternatively are there any good sources of information specific to
2007 Pivot Tables most of the information I can find relates to Excel.
