MS Access and Proxy Servers

H

Hans Stope

I have a MS Access application that is split in a front-end (forms etc) and
back-end (tables database)

The front-end is installed on each user's workstation the back-end on a file
server.

I am expanding the application so that users at branch offices can also use
the database program, but the problem is that the file server that hosts the
back-end is behind a proxy server.

My question is:
Which ports will have to be opened on the proxy server for the front-end
database to be able to link to the tables of the back-end database behind the
proxy server?

Thanks for your help,
Hans

Hi,

I'm afraid we cannot link tables if the back-ends Access MDB file is not in
local network.
