MS Access (& Jet) Version Effects

In trying to track down why a report runs fine on my
machine, but not on my boss' machine, I found these version
differences:

VBA: Mine His
6.05 6.04

Jet: 3.51.0623.0 4.00.9502.0

Would these differences be likely to affect how (or whether
or not) a crosstab query feeds into a report?

When I try to run the report from a "setup" form, I get a
dialog saying "No data".

If I open and fill in the setup form, and then open the
report in design view, and then switch to data view, I get a
dialog saying:

'The Microsoft Jet database engine does not recognize " as a
valid field name or expression.'

If it's the versions making the difference, is it possible
to manipulate the versions on the two boxes, to make them
line up? Preferable: change his box align to mine ;-) .

I forgot to mention the basic Access version: 10.

Default printer for Access... make sure the report has it assigned.

Finally got time on the "other" machine to try this. Set
the report to use the same printer as my machine uses, but
no change in the behavior.

Croy,

Is this a FE/BE database?
Yup.

Can you open the tables?
Yup.

If it is linked check the path and make sure your boss is 'seeing' the BE.

It turns out that Duane Hookum, over in
microsoft.public.access.reports
had a trick up his sleeve to try--and it worked!

If you're curious, see "Report Runs on One Machine, but Not
the Other" over in reports.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. It can get awfully
lonely when Access is acting up, and nobody answers your
cries for help!

Croy,

Glad you got your answer...

In future try cross posting that way we can all see the answers in one
thread!

That would require foresight, and I seem to have misplaced
mine in a previous lifetime!

But I'll keep trying... ;-)
