The specifications state that an MDB file can have 255 simultaneous
connections. Most developers find that optimistic. Most developers that I
have talked to find that they are comfortable with approximately 20. I have
one set of back-end tables that gets as many as 50 connections without any
corruption or locking problems. One of the companies I consult for has 42
connections, again, without any problems. YMMV.
