I have a client making a Query in Access 2003, when we check the SQL the
assrix is entered automatically causing all the fields to appear instead of
just the 5 selected. Tested on another PC and the "*" did not appear in the
SQL line.--

In your Access Options you have "Output All Fields" checked On.
You can change that or on a query by query basis in Query Properties.
