MS-DOS PROMPT (XP)

When I try to access the MS-DOS(XP) from the programs list the windows opens
and then closes immediately. What do I do to correct or can I reload the
files? I UPGRADED FROM WIN98 TO WINXP(2002). NO PROBLEMS OCCURRED AFTER
UPGRADE . RECENTLY AFTER I BEGAN DELETING DATA FILES FROM THE HARD DRIVE, I
COULD NOT ACCESS MS-DOS.
