I tried to change the currency format from "$" (Dollars) to "R" (Rand) when
entering data into access. But if I change it, it shows a date. Can someone
help?

Have you tried changing it via Regional Settings yet. First see if this gives
you the required format.

(Which version are you using?)

It would probably help if we could see how you "tried" to change it with such
strange results. I think Maurice is probably correct in suggesting that
you're going to need to chage your reginal settings to do this. My version of
Acess 2000 only offers the options in the table of setting Currency to
dolloars or euros.
