MS Office and .NET

I dont know if anyone can help me. But to settle a small arguement can anyone
tell me when, if ever, office will be developed on .NET. I am told it is
currently still built with C++ on a pre .NET platform.

Office is big enough and slow enough as it is. They don't need .NET for
that.
