MS office app problems

Hello all: New poster here. I usually frequent XP and FP 2000 newsgroups.
However, I need help with my Office xp apps and FP 2000. All of them simply
close immediately if I use the Tools/Addins or Customize buttons. I have
pasted my communication with Thomas and Stefan in the FP newsgroup as it was
when it happened in FP that I became aware of problem.

Hi Stefan and Thomas: I decided to check all MS Office apps, Excel, Word,
etc and all have the same problem with Excel being the worst. I can't even
get the program to run. Uninstalled all programs including FP2000,
checkdisk, defrag and rebooted. Same problem. Have checked the Fujitsu site
and have latest drivers for video. I also am going to post in Office
newsgroup to see if any help there. I appreciate all your help and if
anything comes to mind, please advise.

That sounds like the MSO common dialogs
Reinstall FP in custom mode selecting run all from disc
Then install all MSO and your OS Service packs and patches (windows update)

Also could be a faulty video driver -
Check that you have the latest video driver and directX for your OS

| Hi Stefan: Went to that specific key, only Jimco Addin there, had a value of
| 2 so I assume that means it does not load. Also, I found out last night that
| if I have to open online web by typing in URL, the program will disappear.
| If it is already listed or in list of recent webs used, it will open. It
| seems that almost anything that uses drop down box or another window causes
| program to cease and desist.
