MS Office Picture Manager File Open Command

Where is the File Open command?????????????

I have to put in shortcuts to my pictures/images? They are all over my hard
drive by different programs, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.

This is a serious pain in the ass and I am frustrated. I edit graphics and
pictures as part of my job and making shortcuts to all the different
directories is cumbersome. I don't need some application to search for me.
I know where all my damn files are.

The old MS Photo Editor was just fine.

Why do you think we are all stupid and need the software to replace our
brains? If you want to put in all that touchy feely crap for the idiots
that's fine, but at least let the rest of us do things manually as it is much
more efficient.

I hate Office 2003. My corporation stovepiped this bloated piece of crap
down to my PC and unfortunately I have to live with it.

You may assign the picture manager for opening pictures by default. Windows
Explorer -> Tools > Folder options > extensions.

So... What's wrong with a shortcut to C: and whatever other partitions you
have on your hard drive, then? I don't get the "pain in the ass." Any folder
in that shortcut pane can be expanded the same way they can be expanded in
Windows Explorer. Do you have a different way of navigating your hard drive?
To add to Gyorgy's suggestion, you can have Picture Manager take over file
associations from Tools> File Types... within Picture Manager.

Wonderful. Suppose I don't have easy access to a version of Windows XP? Are
the Microsoft Rainmen prepared to send me a patch? No.
Why should I have to add a shortcut EVERY TIME I want to look at a different
folder?? I work with dozens and dozens of folders on occassion and adding
each and every one of them with the "Locate Pictures" features is
monumentally ridiculous.
Once again, Microsoft manages to shove their own head a little farther up
their own a$$es.
