MS Office XP converter issue - - - - - - TS

Ted Scherbel

I tried to open a simple WORD document that had a URL imbedded, but was
told I needed a conversion package added. I was told to get it from the
Office CD, but that failed to work.It also mentioned I might search for the
PRORET.MSI installation package, but was unable to locate anything with
that name.

This really has be bummed out so would be much appreciative for a solution.

Regards, Ted

ALSO, I have not read this group for a while and was surprised to see
nearly all posts having a sender ID beginning with =Utf-whatever.
What's this about? Thanks, Ted

Who or what told you you needed a conversion package? PRORET.MSI would only
be on the CD if you have a retail version of Office. So did the who or what
mention why you might search for that installer?

Are you receiving an error when you try to open a document in Word 2002?
What application was the file created with?

As for the =UTF stuff, I believe it's something the Microsoft web interface
adds to the From header.
http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx is a link to
one such interface.
