I have MS Office XP Small Business on my PC. I am trying
to upgrade with MS Office XP Professional and keep
getting Error 1608 (no qualifing product found). I
followed HP's procedure but wwith no results. ARE MS
OFFICE XP SMALL BUSINESS and MS OFFICE XP PROFESSIONAL
COMPATIBLE??????

Now, I want you to do something; I want you to find the box (not the jewel
case, the box) that XP Pro came in and have a look at the qualifying
products listed on the side (under - or above - the system requirements).
See Office XP (any flavour) listed - no? What does that tell you?

I'll tell you - as has always been the case, you cannot use an upgrade
licence between products of the same version. You are required to have (in
the case of XP) either 2000, or 97. If you don't have either then you don't
qualify for the upgrade.
