The laptop had a trial Vista Office installed but not activated. I had
Office XP Professional already and didn't want to activate the Office vista
so I just uninstalled the Office vista and then loaded the Office XP. The
problem is the windows vista platform on the machine won't let me input any
of my old files I have transfered to my thumb drive. For all the office
programs the inputted files (it won't let me transfer into the new computer)
it tells me Windows has a problem with the file and is closing. I have
uninstalled and installed the Office XP with still no success - same pop up
screen problem. I have installed evry update available for he Vista windows
also with no success. Someone told me that the Vista program does not support
inputted files from Office XP even though installing Office XP will work.
They said I need to install Office 2007 which supports both the XP and Vista
platforms. Am I on the right track or is there a different solution to my
problem? Thank You. TFD

You need to tell us EXACTLY how you transferred these files to the thumb
drive, how EXACTLY you are trying to "input" these files to the new machine,
and the EXACT wording (in full) of the error message.
