MS Outlook hangs when I try to send an attachment

Greetings:
Have installed recommended MS security updates. Since
then, I can't send any files as attachments with my e-mail
messages. This is a serious issue for me. Would appreciate
anyone telling me what is going on and how I can resolve
the situation. Could not find any answer in Microsoft
knowledge base and Web site.
