MS Outlook MAP132.DLL corrupt

I

Ian Mc

Hi
I recently installed a trial version (from microsoft.com) of Visio
Professional 2007. I decided on Friday not to use anymore so I performed an
uninstall on Visio (only) and was successful.

I now receive an error for MS Outlook that "MAP132.DLL is corrupt or the
wrong version....please reinstall Outlook"

Also receive error on MS Professional Edition 2003 that "A requried
installation file SKU111.CAB could not be found"

We dont have an install disc as when moving house some boxes went missing
and this was in one of them.

Does anyone have any remedy ?

Close Outlook 2003. Start Windows Explorer or My Computer, and use it
to rename the "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\MSMAPI32.DLL" file to MSMAPI32.OLD. When you
start Outlook 2003, the program should repair itself.

As for the SKU111.CAB message, see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896866/en-us "When you try to start a
Microsoft Office 2003 program for the first time, you receive the
'Installation Error: File not Found' error message".

Not having the original Office 2003 CD may cause you problems in the
future when you want to get program updates or need to repair your
Office 2003 installation. If your Office 2003 software came
preinstalled on your computer by the computer manufacturer, then you
should contact your computer manufacturer and ask them for a replacement
CD (no guarantee that they will provide one, but you can ask). If you
have a retail-box copy of Office 2003, then see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246/en-us "How to replace Microsoft
software or hardware, order service packs and product upgrades, or
replace product manuals".

Thanks Garfield for your response, unfortunately trying the rename option on
MSMAP!32 didnt work, I still received same error. It starts the Professional
Edition install request, then of course I have to cancel that when prompted
for instal disc, then I receive the MSMAPI32.DLL corrupt or wrong version
error msg.

Then you'll need your Office 2003 CD to do a proper repair.

In the meantime, if you have (or know someone who has) another computer
with a properly functioning Office 2003, then you might try copying the
MSMAPI32.DLL file from that computer to yours.

I don't know where that information can you walk me trought

Pretend we're all simpletons who don't know what error you're referring to
and post the whole error message, please.
