Hi
I am looking for a way of adding the %Complete values against a number of
products into a Customised cellagainst a Milestone.
Is this possible and what is the easiest way to acheive this?
Look forward to receiving any advice.
Kind regards
Tony

TonyK,
First of all, how about you explain exactly what you mean by, "...adding
the % Complete values against a number of products into a customized
cell against a milestone." Say what?

I will tell you one thing, yes, it is possible with VBA. Now, depending
on what you mean in your opening statement, it may or may not be
possible without VBA.

Yes it is possible, but it depends on your circumstances. If you post more
details it will be easier to tell you definitively.

Hi

I have milestone tasks which link to a number of sub products. What I wish
to do is add the %Complete values of the sub products and then divide the
figure by the number of sub products under that Milestone and thereby give me
a %Complete against the milestone.

For example if I have 5 sub products linked to one milestone and the total
of the %Complete fields of all sub products amounts to 350 then I would
divide the 350 by th number of sub products (i.e. 5) and this would give me
an overal milestone %Complete figure of 70%.

Hope this makes sense.

Kind regards

Tony,
First of all milestones are not "tasks". Milestones are "0" duration
events that either initiate a group of performance tasks or mark the
completion of a group of performance tasks. As such, milestones are
either complete or not complete - there is no such thing as a partially
complete milestone.

That said, what you really should do is to indent you sub product tasks
under a summary line. The % Complete value at the summary level will
automatically calculate what you want (i.e. summary line % complete =
(sum of performance task actual durations)/(sum of performance task
durations) x 100%)
