MS Project 2010

When does it come up for production?

How is the cost, anybody know?

Does it require a sepate database?

Can it work byitself without a database?

What are the benefits of having the server (MS project 2010)?

Hi Jp,

It's released 12th May to corporate customers.... June for the consumer.
It'll be on Select price lists at the begining of May.
It requires SQL Server, plus SharePoint Server, all must be 64bit.
The benefits will depend on your requirements, but a good place to start is
here - http://www.microsoft.com/project/en/us/default.aspx

Hi Ben,

Thank you for the answer. It seems it uses along of horse power on the
server side. By the way, would the professional version have all the things
that the server has with the exception of the server side component of things?
Is it only on 64 bit? Thanks Ben.

Hi JP, you cannot compare the server and professional versions, they are note
like for like products. If howerver you are talking solely about the server
side scheduling funcationality via the web, then the functionality provided
by the server is is a subset of that on the client.

Server server is only 64 bit.

So for scheduling purposes the Server version of MS 2010 is a much better
product that uses a Web based tools that developers can use to log their work?

What functionality does the non-server based MS Project 2010 provide that's
better than the MS Project 2007?
