MS Project Server and SharePoint Instance

Since MS Project Server is built on Windows SharePoint Services, should that
instance of SharePoint be dedicated to MS Project Server, or can that
instance be utilized for other SharePoint projects as well? TIA

Project Server is installed on top of SharePoint Services, but doesn't have
to integrate with every SharePoint site.

We have many non-project related sites on our SharePoint farm along with the
project workspaces. We just publish our project sites to the ProjectServer
site collection, and save the rest of them elsewhere.

Thanks Jason. This means I can deploy SharePoint Services via the
Project Server 2007 installation, and then create other projects,
Intranet, Collaboration, etc. on the same SharePoint instance.

Absolutely it's technically possible, but don't forget to size the farm
accordingly taking into consideration all user
requirments/performance/availability etc.

There are some good PS sizing guidelines on technet and there is also a beta
edition of a SharePoint Sizing Tool available for download.
