MS Project Server Import Timesheets problem

Hello,

I have started using project/project server in my company and I have
problem with the import timesheet functionality found in "My tasks" pag
in PWA. This is what happens:

I created a new project with MS project.
I added a bunch of tasks to my project and I assigned myself to them.
I published my project to project server.
I logged into PWA and navigated to "My Tasks". All the new task
appeared correctly.
I then navigated to "my timesheets" and input actual work for my task
in several days of the week.
Then I navigated back to "my tasks" and clicked on "Impor
Timesheets".
Here is the problem, because NO tasks appear to be imported for th
timesheet period selected. So I could not sync the timesheet with th
tasks progress.

After trying a bunch of different paths, I discovered that if I add
new task directly from "My tasks", and input actual hours in th
timesheet, that task then shows up when clicking "import timesheet".

I have looked for any information on this but I was not successful
Does anyone have a clue on how to make this work? It is ver
inconvenient to have to sync these things by hand.

Thanks

Hi,

You have posted your question in the Microsoft Project General Questions
newsgroup, which is dedicated to Project (client) questions. I suggest you
repost it in the microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup.

However, you will have no timesheet info to import into your task updates if
the timesheet has not been approved by your timesheet manager.

Hope this helps, but I still recommend you to repost in the Project Server
newsgroup.

Best Regards,

Hello chinok,
Some stuff to ensure, you have the periods defined in the time
sheets and then ensure the time frame of the tasks and the time sheet
are in the similar period. This should ensure that you have the tasks
that you have assigned either in a project or direct tasks.

you can look into the video on the Task and Time management at
learnmsprojectserver.com that should assist and address your concern,
