MS Server - to buy or not to buy?

Hi,

We are going to purchase MS Project Professional 2007. I was wondering if
anyone can helpd me decide if I need to also get MS Server (It is a huge
added expense).

My needs are to be able to create projects/reports and give other people in
my office the ability to view those projects and manipulate the views to
their specific criteria but not make any changes to the schedule.

A secondary need would be to have the project sink up to other employees
Outlook calendars. Though I can live without this function because I don't
see a need to micromanage.

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Andrew. That really helped. I will look into Sharepoint. I thought I
read that IntelliGant is an alternative to Sharpoint. If so, do you prefer
one over the other.
