MS Spam

OK. I asked a question yesterday here and I received
several useful responses which I am now trying to use and
for which I am very appreciative. BUT, I made the mistake
of using my real e-mail address in the Post Message form.
So, within 24 hours, I have received dozens of returned
mail notices and, more concerning, I've received about 10
copies of about five Microsoft Spam e-mails, over and over
and over. How do I get my e-mail address of the list?
Anyone know? Thanks very much.

Frank,

Spammers and other low-lifes regularly scan public news groups for valid
email addresses, phone numbers and other useful info; and, lately, it
appears that one or more of the nasty viruses are capable of doing that as
well. Since you have already started getting spam and other garbage, it's
probably too late.

You can go here:

http://www.google.com/googlegroups/help.html

and check out Questions 12 and 13 and see if there is any help there.

This isn't a website ... it's a news server, and the spammers likely got
your email by culling it from a message you posted. In general, you should
"munge" your address ... use Nick@SPAMKLR_aol.com instead of (e-mail address removed)
.... humans know to remove SPAMKLR (or at least they should), but the
automated bots that cull the addresses don't.
