MS Word 2000 freezes

I run Windows 98 (not SE) and installed Office 2000
recently. MS Word opens fine but I cannot use any of the
utility features such as page set up. As soon as I click
on page set up Word freezes up and I have to use TaskBar
to get out of it. TaskBar says Word is "Not Responding".
I never had any trouble with Word 97. I have run
antivirus, defragged, uninstalled and reinstalled Office
2000, downloaded and installed patches from the MS site
and it still continues. Seems like there is a
compatibility issue between Windows 98 and Office 2000
that surely someone else has experienced. Any ideas?
