MS Word 2003 shows certain document instead blank page

I just bought a new Office 2003. It did nothing for the
problem that I have experienced with Word 2000:

Every time I open Word one of our document shows, rather
than a blank page.
This document no longer exists on any Word file.

How can I have a blank page showing?
