MS Word 6.0 will not print envelope vertically

Just bought a new Epson C64 printer, which can only print
envelopes vertically. I have changed the envelope setting
to the vertical choice in Word, but Word still prints &
previews it horizontally.
By making other changes in the printer setting the best I
can do is print it vertically, but the type is still
horizontal.
I have tried Landscape, Portrait, envelope paper setting.
I am using the Epson driver that came witht he printer &
Epson says it is the fault of Word, not Epson.

Hi Chris,

Word 6.0 will print vertically. It will show horizontal in Print
Preview but when the data is sent to the printer it is vertical.

Even though you are using the driver that came with the printer, have
you tried an updated driver from the manufacturer's web site?

As an additional note, even though my printer 'wants' to print
envelopes vertically I tend to place the envelope in horizontally
instead. IIRC, I may have picked this up when I used Word 6. Now that
I think about it a little more I did encounter difficulties with some
printers when it came to envelopes.
